Trainer Noel Meade announced that Road To Respect will participate in the Ryanair Chase as well as the Magners Gold Cup of the Cheltenham Festival 2019. This is after the connections start to consider the best target for his return at the said event.
The eight-year-old runner is not new to the Cheltenham Festival. Last 2017, he won the Brown Advisory and Merriebelle Stable Plate. On top of that, 12 months ago, he managed to finish fourth to Native River in the blue riband. Another achievement that Road to Respect achieved was when the gelding finished third to Kemboy in the Savills Chase last Christmas and won the JNWine.com Champion Chase at Down Royal. In his most recent race, he was beaten by Bellshill in the Unibet Irish Gold Cup at Leopardstown by just a short head.
Meade explained that Road to Respect is in good shape and he is hoping that everything will be all right before the Cheltenham Gold Cup. But the trainer said that his participation at Ryanair would be left open. If this pushes through, then the runner will enter with Tout Est Permis.
